Application Engineer

Summary: The Application Engineer is responsible for leveraging engineering knowledge and relationships to support NLign sales team, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using NLign software products. This role provides technical support from pre-sale through the early adoption phase of new customers.

Job Responsibilities: Serves potential and current customers by identifying their needs; demonstrating and supporting the NLign product suite within the customers environment, and providing training and configuration services.

Job Duties:

  • Lead/Assist in coordinating and executing technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.
  • Develop training material and conduct web based and in person training with potential and actual customers.
  • Work with new customers to setup proper data architecture for specific customer needs.
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product and service technical and information by answering questions and requests.
  • Supports sales staff by working with potential customers; planning and organizing sales support calls.
  • Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customers’ current infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows.
  • Participate in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales/sales enablement and professional growth.
  • Create and demonstrate solutions to streamline customer workflows, in support of the software sales process.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of NLign applications in customer environment or proposing changes in processes.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating NLign application, and incorporating the product into the customer’s operations.
  • Performs introductory and/or intermediate training classes on the usage of NLign products.
  • Provides primary support to sales team by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Create and maintain product training materials, videos and support documentation.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to sales and product development effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to the product or environment; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.Experience working in an MRB area would be a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English.
  • Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer.
  • Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.


  • MS degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering software environment is a plus.
  • Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance.
  • Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus.
  • Experience with or strong knowledge of other commercial PLM, MES, CAE, CAD software packages.
  • Experiences with the software development of engineering tools.
  • Experience with databases, Java Application Server and Single Sign-On (SSO) applications.

Research Scientist/Engineer

Etegent employs a talented and multi-disciplinary group of engineers with varying levels of education and experience in order to effectively deliver technology solutions that pragmatically solve the needs and challenges of our customers.

Job Responsibilities: Etegent is seeking to add a research scientist/engineer to its engineering team to work in a team environment with Etegent teammates, customers and other researchers in the following areas:

  • Image Processing
  • Computer and Machine Vision
  • Machine Learning

Job Duties

  • Implementing and understanding state-of-the-art techniques within the image processing, computer vision, and machine learning fields.

Software Engineer, Application Development

Summary: NLign Analytics is seeking to add software engineers to work on its NLign software application.  This application is fundamentally changing the way organizations use inspection, maintenance, and manufacturing data. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the software development lifecycle, be detail oriented and display a passion to create software solutions to enhance the capabilities of others.

Job Responsibilities: Candidate will design, implement, test, debug, and document complex software applications, and may assist in monitoring project schedules and costs. Typical projects are targeted at commercial and military customers. Current C++ experience and Object Oriented development concepts are required.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate with teammates and users to define and write efficient, modular and well-documented software.
  • Coordinate with teammates to define and implement software requirements.
  • Implement, test, debug, and document complex software application

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in computer science or computer-related engineering field, with strong knowledge of C++, Java, and SQL

  • Object Oriented software development knowledge and experience
  • Database (SQL Server, Oracle or equivalent) knowledge and experience
  • OpenGL, QT framework, and Web Services experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive a U.S. Security Clearance which at a minimum requires applicant to be a US Citizen. See: Executive Order 12968 indicates U.S. Citizenship requirement to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Java EE, HTML and JavaScript.
  • Experience analyzing user requirements and translating to technical designs.
  • Background in developing cost-effective information technology solutions in accordance with client specifications.
  • 2+ years of commercial software development experience and 2+ years of C++ and Java development experience.
